Sell Your Vintage & Classic Fly Fishing Tackle

Even when properly stored vintage and classic fly rods can deteriorate over time. Bamboo rods in particular can suffer from deterioration. Windings can unravel, the finish can deteriorate, glued joints can dry out, and fittings can rust.

Some vintage and classic rods, reels, and fly boxes can have significant value, but don't wait too long, as deterioration can greatly lower an item's value, and prices change regularly, both up and down, depending on market conditions.

Selling on online auction sites rarely produces good results. They are frequented by shoppers looking for bargains, so actual sale prices are typically low. Plus, most auction sites take at least 15% of the sale price as their fee.

Send us multiple photographs showing as much detail as possible, especially of any decals or markings. Descriptions of the item such as rod length and reel diameter are very helpful. Also provide a description of the condition as you see it, including any flaws. A history of the item as you know it is also helpful, e.g. "My father's rod, purchased sometime in the 1960's."
